March 31 - The big fining day

I was awakened by the pleasant music of a gigantic freight train rumbling by the hotel window. After having pulled myself out of bed I got up and admired the enchanting view from the hotel window: a pile of dirt with two empty liquor bottles and a brick wall. When my beloved companion had woken up we went for breakfast, which was immediately followed by a trip to Prague. When the compulsory (and actually very beautiful) tour was all done, we took the metro back home again. I had gotten a "student ticket", which was supposed to be shown to a ticket inspector. It turned out that the "student ticket" wasn't at all for students, but for kids under 15. Since I'm 25 years old, I don't really fit into that category, and was blessed with a fine, weighting in at 500 Czech koruny. It's of course only €1.80, but as a comparison, you'll get a three months bus pass for students for only 600 koruny. Fair and juste.

When we had left Prague for Brno (some 250 kms away), where we were to have dinner, it tured out that the radio turned us down. We had to listen to a kids' cassette in Czech, which was very refreshing.

After having had dinner in Brno and went for a short walk in the old town, we found ourselves once again sitting in the car, an old Skoda from 1988 without a catalyst, heading for Lednice, where the night were to be spent. We finally arrived the hotel, which has to be categorized as one of the real masterpieces of the modern world. Upon entering the door to this room of classical beauty and functionalism one immediately notices a black and white tv in the room. If you were to look above the bed you would be gazing upon a painting, which could easily illustrate any dirty book: the painting depicts a couple making sweet love underneath a blanket decorated with flowers, and all of this in a lovely softed haze. On the toilet you would find accessible facilites, a shower without curtain and a hook looking like an erect penis. And the door? Oh, yes, there was a door. With a window... I just ask myself: how much German porno has been produced in this room?
