April 1 - To Slovakia
April 1st usually involves fooling someone, but thinking about the past days' escapades I wouldn't been able to fool anyone. Plus, czech fraud is probibited, haha.
Kamila had planned for a tour to the manor in Lednice, which is on the UNESCO World Herigate list. The young lady tricked me into visiting the castle's minaret/lookout tower, which is whooping 60 metres high. It was quite a breathtaking experience, and I left not long after I reached the top.
Before we hit the road again I paid a visit to the White throne room, where the throne was besieged in a jolly mood. It turned out that the toilet paper dispenser was called CVS (a tool used by programmers, normal people: beware of geek humour!), which naturally inspired a whole lot of bad jokes inside my head: cvs update && cvs commit && flush; was a given command line for this toilet. Plus, I accidentally got a bit too much paper, so I had to perform a cvs rollback; to wrap it up.
Czech republic was soon left behind in favour of Slovakia, where Kamila had planned for a day at a spa. A very good initiative indeed! We arrived there in the evening, and it was decided that we were to go bowling. The combined bowling alley/snooker pub was indeed an experience. The furniture consisted of a bar, two tables with chairs, two snooker tables, two bowling alleys and three drunk hungarians. One of the hungarians tried to speak to me in English, which resulted in him being thrown out from the pub by the bar keeper. The alleys were really technological wonders: the pins were suspended in strings, which were pulled up after each ball to be aligned. This didn't work out that good most of the times, which made it possible to first strike nine pins down in the first throw and then strike another ten in the second throw. Sometimes the pins would entangle themselves, and were left hanging there as a bunch of cats at a Chinese meat market.
